EDIT: Sorry about the text in blue. I have since gone back and darkened it but for right now it's probably mostly illegible. It's basically describing what Keter is and how it relates to the other sephirot.
I decided to focus on the Tree of Life from Kabbalah instead of trying to do larger concepts that would probably be lost on most people. The beams of light coming from the disc represent the 10 sephirot or emanations of God. The text on the right is a kind of mantra, the 72 Names of God or 72 arcangels (I don't know how that works, but it's a cool idea). One thing that led to this format was a lack of sufficient canvas for the frame, so I sewed some scraps of canvas to a larger piece, creating 3 seams that broke up the space quite nicely, which I decided to work around. The text "Amen Ainsi Soit Il" is from the end page of a book that Alphonse Mucha did on The Lord's Prayer entitled "Le Pater." "Ainsi soit il" is basically another translation of 'amen,' that is 'so be it' or 'and so it is.' Acrylic, pencil, collage.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
